Blogging Challenge Week 6 (n.o 4)

What Happens At Lunch Times At My School

At my school how lunchtime works is we start at 12:30pm - 12:45pm we get 15 minutes to eat and then after we get 55 minutes (untill 1:25) to play games, talk to friends, order at our school canteen and sometimes if you play a sport like netball, sometimes you might have a practice during that 55 minutes. Games we would have during lunchtimes are volleyball (sometimes room 5 might set up the volleyball net), Bullrush (my favourite) a NZ game played on a field where people try make it to the end of the field without getting tackled which is usually supervised by a teacher, Basketball sometimes the teachers might even join in, Football on the football field, sports trials and sometimes if you're included in a cultural group such as KapaHaka or The Pasefika group you might have a practise wih you're tutors.
My school has 1 big main field which has the football field, the rugby field and the challenge (an obsticle course) around the main big field. We have 3 basketball/netball courts, 2 outside the east block and one outside the west block.

Plastic Pollution (Blogging Challenge Week 5)

                       Plastic Pollution

Did you know that over 400,000 marine animals die every year due to plastic pollution in the ocean. Plastic is poison to marine animals that eat them. Littering, eventually causes floating ocean plastic that sinks to the ocean floor or ends up on shores of beaches all over the globe. Today (April 22nd) is Earth Day which is held every year. This year (2020) marks 50 years of Earth Day! I’m informing you about this topic, Plastic Pollution because I would like to raise awareness of marine animals almost becoming exstinced because of Plastic Polution and our use of plastic.
Everyday approximatley 8 million pieces of plastic poloution find their way into our oceans. Around 5.25 trillion micro & microplastic peices are floating in the open oceans. Weighing up to 269,000 tonnes. That's like dumping one whole New York City garbage truck full of plastic into the ocean every day for the entire year! Plasic has been found inside seabirds and turtles with more than 60% of seabirds and in 100% of sea turtles that mistaken plastic for food.

What can we do to help? Firstly, we can cut down our use of plastic for excample instead of bying plastic bags to carry our shopping with, we can use tote bags, maerial bags and other sorts of bags instead of plastic bags because 10% of the plasic in the ocean is plastic bags. It is estimated about 300 000 million plastic bags end up in the ocean every year. In some shops they have stopped selling plastic bags and changed to selling tote bags and other material bags. We can also stop using plasic straws and change to using metal straws that you can use more than once because straws are very harmfull to our marine animals like other plastic. Reducing, reusing and recycling is another great way to reduce plastic in our oceans. You can make different arts & crafts with your plastic, reuse plastic bottles and more.

There is also a global company called 4Ocean Bracelet. The company use plastic from the the ocean to make their bracelet. Each time you buy a bracelet, it takes 1 pound of rubbish out of the ocean. This is a good, helpful way to reduce plastic in the ocean. It also helps give jobs to unemployed people. This is a simple way to help save our oceans.

✏️ Drawing Challenge (number 5) πŸ“

I chose to do drawing challenge number 5, where I had to draw something, anything using only 3 colours. I decided to pick random colours instead of colours of my choice which were grey, light green and light blue. I also choose to draw a turtle🐒. Since my drawing abilities aren't the greatest I needed to use a tutorial off Youtube:

When we all finished warming up we get into a line for a photo but not just any photo... THE BEST TEAM PHOTO OUT OF ALL THE NETBALL TEAMS. "on 3 you all jump and say yay!"one of our coaches told us. "okay, 3, 2, 1" "WOOHOO!!!" We all shout The sky had a gradient to it which made the photo even better!

https://www.photosforclass.com/search?text=womens+rugby
Sometime I hope to start playing rugby. I've played before but it wasn't really a real game one of those back yard sort of games. I decided to want to play start playing when I was 11 (Yr 6) when that was when I played my first game. Playing that game was the best! But at the time there were no other teams that were for my age group. Last year I got given the opportunity to play & train with other girls my age but didn't want do it because I was too scared. I regret regretting that opportunity, so this year is my chance, I'll join the training team and I'll trial for the schools inter school team. So take every opportunity that gets given to you because you will regret not.

🎀 BANDQUEST 2019 🎹

We were all ready for the moment we had been waiting for...  the results. We had been practicing hard weeks, months of long hours and it all had come down to this very moment. We were all back stage when we had taken this photo. It was after our performance we were happy with ourselves, not worrying about any other band, just ourselves. All that mattered to us was that we had done our tutors, family and fellow band members proud.
